Nigel,

I am still pursuing this as a possibility. What sort of business do
you run and how would you handle the calls. I am just curious since I
am trying to decide what to do with the number, meanwhile my phone
keeps ringing.

I know at least some of these calls are worth something to someone. I
come from many call center environments and I know that out of any
amount of inbound from any demographic, a good salesman will make a
deal. I have to think that inbound calls to among a specific
demographic, albeit, late on their cell phone bill, could be a good
leads.

What do you sell and how much would you be willing to pay for transfers?

I am curious, was the order that I mentioned the one you were thinking
of (basically numbers themselves shouldnt be commodities, "cherry"
tollfrees shouldnt have a premium price on them, etc) or was there a
different order that you were thinking of?

I ask because I didnt see this order when it first came out, and like
many things the FCC does shortly after they are done all is quiet and
you dont hear about it again. So there might have been something else
that you initially thought of that covers the way tollfrees are sold and
used.

Well I kind of just need the voice files, I want prefer to stick with my own
platform. I also kinda need it by Sunday and finding a Russian student in hk
is nearly impossible.

Not that many numbers are ported--especially wireless numbers as you say.

But be aware that querying NANPA blocks is not enough;  for 10,000 
blocks, you can just get the office code spreadsheet off their site.

But many blocks are pooled into thousand blocks, which is a  system 
administered by Neustar.  678-336 is an example.  To see how it's split 
up, you can go to www.nationalpooling.com.  Telcodata.us and 
localcallingguide.com will also tell you this, although not always in a

Nationalpooling.com, unlike some of the buried resources on NANPA's 
site, appears to be specifically designed to prevent automated data

As Nathan said, you will still be mostly right, most of the time, 
without LNP dips.  Relatively few ports go on in the wireline world 
outside of business related to VoIP service providers, which are a very 
DID-intensive industry.
