They started out with HT502 - ended up recalling all of them and replacing
them with PAP2's because the HT's simply won't stay registered.

Maybe the problem is VOIPo itself - but IMHO why take the risk?

While it's easy to dismiss Grandstream (I've certainly been guilty), with regard to their ATAs I haven't had any issues that were the ATAs fault. I have found them to be simple enough that most anyone with a little linksys router experience can reconfigure it without too much trouble. In a past life was able to ship them all around the world to clients and they'd *just* work.

YMMV though

I've seen so many problems that were directly related to using a GS adapter
and were resolved by switching to another brand, especially HT502 is bad.

I'd recommend Linksys/PAP2's - but they don't have a built-in router so it
won't answer your requirement. I don't know of any ATA with a built-in router
that I can recommend in good faith - they all mostly suck.

I recommend to my users to use a PAP2 behind a regular router.

I am looking for recommendations of ATAs for residential use that
include support for a PPPoE connection and DHCP for a local lan.

Please only comment if you are a reseller or user (not a manufacturer/distributor)

Re: [asterisk-biz] Looking for recommendations of ATA w/router

Has anyone on the list tried this product?

[WRP400-G1]

This is our highest performance Ethernet router with 2-Port ATA from the Sipura/Linksys team (now Cisco Small Business), . . . plus we just added 3G USB "dongle" support for broadband wireless WAN back-up.

Re: [asterisk-biz] best ITSP for VoIP conferencing 30 participants

I recommend IP Communications (www.ipcomms.net). Nice folks, easy to
work with, here in the Atlanta area. Aretta (www.aretta.com) is
another local option.

[asterisk-biz] Digium Launches Support For Open Source Asterisk

Asterisk Business Community,

At AstriCon I announced that Digium was going to make a major change in policy and offer commercial support for open source Asterisk. We knew that there was strong demand for this, but we were amazed when the announcement brought a round of applause from the audience. It took us a while to get all the details worked out, but as of now, we're open for business.

I've just posted an announcement and introduction on the Digium blog:

http://blogs.digium.com/2009/03/31/digium-launches-support-for-open-source-asterisk/

The details of the new support program are available here:

http://www.digium.com/en/supportcenter/asterisk.php

And you can buy a subscription directly from the Digium web store here:

http://store.digium.com/products.php?category_id=93

Many thanks to the many people from the Asterisk community who helped us to shape this program. We believe that this will help expand Asterisk adoption into new markets and open up opportunities for all members of the ecosystem.

Cheers,

-S
