I am not sure that is a convincing argument, in light of all the
detriments.
SIP has evolved numerous and viable near-end and far-end NAT traversal
solutions.
1000s of random consumer customer. Running hundreds of different consumer ADSL routers. I think if you sat on the tech support line for such an environment you might appreciate a little more the benefit of a protocol that handles NAT as smoothly as IAX does.
