I see a showdown of Asterisk "Appliances" coming.  Signate would have won if they were still around http://blog.tmcnet.com/blog/tom-keating/asterisk/signate-an-asterisk-provider-bites-the-dust.asp

Their "Appliance" was an SGI Altix 350 (I think dual Itanium II chips)  $30k, I would have loved to numa link a few of those together and see what it could do.

Too bad their GUI sucked.
