I'm looking for asterisk based solution to install prepaid telephone cabins in which people would prepay a deposit and then be able to make calls. When done, the cashier would be able to print a CDR and bill and refund any unused money from the deposit.
Ideally, the solution should also allow me to rent a pc for internet access.

BOSANOVA in France created the NovaTaxe solution for callshops.
There is a version of SW that runs on Windows PCs that can manage Asterisk from remote, or a a server with Linux Xubuntu, asterisk and NovaTaxe all integrated.
With the NovaTaxe, you can see in real time the call status and use prepaid or post paid billing methods.
