there is a potential problem with this. GSM6.10 is all asterisk does,
there is the GSM-AMR (adaptive multirate, as opposed to the fixed rate
6.10 does) is patented and afaik there is no patent license or codec to
do the AMR parts. as a result if it just did passthrough it would have
to specifically not support AMR, and getting that info may be somewhat
difficult as marketing monkeys wouldnt understand what you are asking -
but it would be osmething to look for if you got one.
