Vdex-40 is an Asterisk based appliance, that makes it immediately different than Epygi's and Grandstream's offerings. With Vdex-40 you can also access and manipulate the Asterisk dialplan for customizations too.
Vdex-40 is a dual processor system using Mindspeed processors, one for voice packetization, the other for system processing, as well as separate hardware codecs for voice compression (G.711, G.723.1, G.726, G.729a/b) and echo cancellation (G.168). The IP04 relies on a single Blackfin processor for all of it.
